The Workshop on “Computational Methods in Social Sciences” is hosted by the Social Sciences and Humanities Department and the Centre for IT and Society, of IIIT Delhi along with the University of Chicago Delhi Centre. It is a first-of-its-kind two-day in India workshop on state-of-the-art computational methods with applications in the domain of social sciences research and education. The workshop will focus on how advances in computational and statistical methods along with access to large data are set to transform research topics in Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science and Psychology. A wide range of research interests from the field of Social Sciences will be covered by experts in an interdisciplinary setting.

The workshop will include a keynote lecture delivered by Prof James Evans, along with panel discussions on the role of computational social sciences in both research and education. We invite scholars and industry experts from social sciences, computer science, statistics, mathematics and allied streams for technical paper presentations and discussions in the area of computational methods for social science research.
